The Hexenabfahrt is a popular ski race celebrating the Valais witch tradition for over 43 years, held annually in January at Belalp. This 12 km descent from Hohstock to Blatten drops 1800m and attracts both competitive racers and costume-wearing witch teams. The race is the climax of a full week of preliminary races, festive Witches Nights, and family activities.
