The Belalp Hexenabfahrt is a legendary traditional ski race that culminates each year in January with a spectacular 12 km descent from Hohstock (3,118 m) to the village of Blatten (1,322 m). This festive week draws racers and groups in colorful witch costumes who compete in various races, themed nights, and a children's festival, blending athletic competition with Valais folk traditions. Since its founding in 1983, the Belalp Hex has become an unmissable tradition in the Valais.
