The Belalp Witch Race is a popular ski race held annually in January over a week-long event. The highlight is the main race on Saturday – a 12 km course with 1800 m elevation drop from Hohstock (3118 m) to Blatten (1322 m). Participants can race as individual skiers or in groups dressed as witches. Based on an old Valais legend and organized for over 43 years, this mystical event combines tradition, sport, and fun.
