The Belalp Hexe is a week-long ski race in January at Belalp-Blatten (Valais) that culminates on Saturday with the grand Hexenabfahrt descent (12 km, 1800 m vertical drop). Additional races, Witches Nights, and a children's witch festival create a festive and mystical atmosphere. Serious racers and costumed witch participants celebrate together this tradition born in 1983 from an old Valais legend.
