The Belalp Witches' Descent is a traditional popular ski race founded in 1983, based on an old Valais legend. A week of events around the witch theme culminating on Saturday with the great 12-km descent. Participants compete as race skiers (skis only) or in costumed witch groups (skis or snowboards). A festive and traditional atmosphere that attracts participants from across Switzerland and internationally.
