The Hexenabfahrt is a traditional ski race held every January in Belalp. This week-long event celebrates a witch-themed atmosphere, with its highlight on Saturday: a 12 km descent from Hohstock (3'118 m) to Blatten (1'322 m). Beyond competitive racing, the event features entertainment including Witches Nights and a children's witch festival. Founded over 43 years ago, this tradition combines sport, alpine heritage, and mystical atmosphere.
