The festival
The Basel Tattoo is a music and performance event held in Basel, in the canton of Basel-Stadt. Its programme centres on military and show bands, with pipe bands, drum shows and dance formations taking part. The 2026 edition marked the festival's twentieth anniversary, and for that occasion the arena was rebuilt to create a more immersive atmosphere for the audience. The anniversary programme included three royal formations, international acts from the show drumming scene and a pipe band.
Across its editions the event has brought together performers from several continents, combining music, dance and singing. Among the acts named in the source are the Top Secret Drum Corps, the US Army Force Band, the Swiss Armed Forces Central Band, the Flings and Things Highland Dancers and the Bicycle Showband Crescendo from the Netherlands.
