The festival

The 20KM de Lausanne is a major running event held in Lausanne, Switzerland, with the next edition scheduled for April 24 and 25, 2027. The race is known for its inclusive approach, aiming to make the event accessible to people with disabilities and reduced mobility. Over the years, the organizers have worked to create a welcoming environment where participants of all abilities can take part in a large-scale sporting event, fostering a spirit of conviviality and inclusion. The event includes adapted courses designed to meet the needs of athletes with disabilities, and a dedicated category allows everyone to participate, whether individually or as part of a group from an institution or foundation.

The festival has seen growing participation and support from associations since the launch of its accessibility initiative, positioning itself among the most inclusive sporting events in Switzerland. Both amateur and experienced athletes are encouraged to join and challenge themselves together. The 2026 edition was promoted as a celebration of diversity, with the promise of being more inclusive than ever, thanks to partnerships and a shared commitment to welcoming all participants. The event also offers a personalized photo service for runners to find pictures of themselves during the race, and a shop where attendees can purchase merchandise in the event's colors.

Registration for the 2026 edition closed on April 15, 2026, or earlier if all race numbers were allocated. For the upcoming 2027 edition, participants can expect a similar structure, with a focus on accessibility and community. The event collaborates with partners to support its inclusive mission, and the organizers emphasize the unique experience of sharing a major sporting moment with a diverse group of people.

Getting there, on site

Registration for the event closes on April 15, 2026, or when all race numbers are sold out. For participants with disabilities, the organizers offer free registration for accompanying persons in certain cases, such as those assisting joëllettes or marathon wheelchairs, or when a disability requires accompaniment, including for the BCV Juniors races. To benefit from this, participants must contact accessibilite@20KM.ch. Mobility equipment such as marathon wheelchairs and joëllettes are permitted, and information about renting this equipment is available via the same email address.

On-site services include an accessibility stand, reserved parking near the start area, trained volunteers to assist with any needs, and quiet rest areas. There are dedicated registration platforms: one exclusively for people with disabilities and their companions, and another for institutions and foundations to centralize group registrations, though institutional registrations are currently closed. For institutions, costs for accompanying persons may be invoiced or reimbursed after the event. For any questions about registration, equipment rental, parking, or other specific needs, participants can call +41 21 315 41 41.

The next edition hasn't been announced yet (usual period: late April). The agenda updates continuously — dates will appear here as soon as they're published.
