Every year on January 13, 20 or 27 (or the preceding Saturday if the date falls on Sunday), Basel celebrates Vogel Gryff with traditional masked parades. This ancient Alemannic celebration features legendary characters and connects to centuries-old carnival traditions of the Upper Rhine.
