About
Vanessa Onwuemezi, a remarkable British author and new voice in contemporary literature, debuted in 2021 with the short story collection Dark Neighbourhood. With powerful and bold language, she prefers to focus on the moment, sound and the unfamiliar rather than explain. Taking Dark Neighbourhood as their starting point, Vanessa Onwuemezi and Ana Sobral discuss writing and Onwuemezi's idiosyncratic approach to language, rhythms and forms.
