About
Tash Aw, nominated multiple times for the Booker Prize, tells the story of a family in Malaysia in the late 1990s. Sixteen-year-old Jay grows on his grandfather's farm amid dense jungle and oppressive heat. This sultry atmosphere reflects the Asian financial crisis and forms the backdrop for his coming-of-age and an emerging romance.
