About
For conductor Heinz Holliger, Schumann has always been at the center of his musical universe. Likewise, the poet Friedrich Hölderlin — a critical genius marginalized by society — embodies the creative tension between genius and suffering. This concert of the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra and the SWR Vocal Ensemble explores the connections between Schumann, Reimann, and Kurtág — a triptych of contemporary music and Romanticism.
