The Basel Christmas Market, recognized as one of Europe's finest, transforms the old town into a festive atmosphere from November to December. Three main squares (Barfüsserplatz, Münsterplatz, and Claraplatz) feature numerous stalls with Christmas decorations, gifts, and culinary specialties. The Fairy Tale Forest (Märchenwald) on Münsterplatz offers creative activities for children such as tin casting, candle making, gingerbread decorating, and a puppet theater.
