Gulistan is a woman who continually confronts powerlessness in the face of Saddam Hussein's dictatorship in Iraq. When her husband Çîya suddenly disappears, she embarks alone on a quest that reveals the extreme brutality of the regime. Finding him brings no relief: he stands before her in uniform, transformed into the dictator's double.
