About
Gulistan is a woman who repeatedly stands against powerlessness. When her husband Çîya suddenly disappears in Iraq under dictator Saddam Hussein, she reports his disappearance as a Kurdish woman but is mocked and threatened. Alone, she sets out on a search that reveals the brutality of this regime. When she finally finds him, he stands before her in uniform, used as the dictator's double. Karosh Taha tells unflinchingly of the unspeakability of war and torture while creating a unique poetic language that opens new spaces.
