About
On December 5, the eve of St. Nicholas' Day, the village of Küssnacht on Lake Lucerne's shores glows with some two hundred enormous transparent bishops' miters, artfully designed and lit from within by candles. These spectacular headpieces, called Iffeles, are worn by men who accompany St. Nicholas through the village in a mesmerizing procession.
