Every January, Solothurn becomes the beating heart of Swiss cinema: the Solothurn Film Festival has been the country's leading film industry gathering for over 60 years. More than 65,000 visitors attend screenings, premieres, panel discussions and encounters with filmmakers in the baroque old town. A major cultural event featuring competitions, awards, school programmes and creative exchange, open to both professionals and the general public.
